Croatia Landscape 01

Planet Earth is the only planet in the entire universe known to have intelligence. The estimates are that the universe measures  an area of about  93 billion light years across containing about 100 billion galaxies, each comprising hundreds of millions of stars.  Each star is a sun at the centre of its system, similar to our solar system which is one of the smaller galaxies – the Milky Way. Why is our star, the Sun, so different? Why is it so special? What makes the Earth, mankind and our civilizations, the most interesting object of observation and research? Simply because in all the billions of systems and myriad planets, Earth is the only planet known to have conditions that will support life – from the simplest sinlge-cell amoeba (which in itself is a complex life structure) to more sophisticated  plant life through to the most advanced, but imperfect,  form of intelligent life, the human being. The human body with its complex structure supporting intelligent life is found only on Earth in our solar system.  In this gigantic expanse that is our universe the Earth is but a spec of which 70% is covered by water, so we are forced to live on the remaining 30% - the land.  However inhospitable climatic conditions and terrain compels us to inhabit only 8% of our planet. Only 8%.In comparison to the vastness of the universe the land we occupy is represents  less than a trillionth of a macro-nano in a millimetre. Mankind driven by an evolutionary hunger for survival, territoriality and superiority, selfishly ignoring our knowledge and endangering that small, valuable space. There is no other known planet or surface that would show us hospitality so unselfishly and give us those basic elements—earth, air, fire and water—to sustain our life.
THIS IS OUR PLANET EARTH, THIS IS OUR ONLY HOME. The photos you will find on this web-gallery present my observations of that universal space and the love I feel when I see it. Stop for a moment and enter into this magic dimension of the light, time and space and join me in watching that unique gift through my camera’s lens.
